Groundworks and Construction Project in Salcombe
We recently completed groundworks and a retaining wall for a new riverside residence in Salcombe, Devon. Work began in January 2023. After demolishing the old house, we started construction on the new dwelling.
A key feature is the retention of the existing concrete slab at road level. We constructed a new concrete ground floor and retaining walls. We also installed drainage systems and built a concrete raft foundation with a pile foundation for added stability.
Challenges
One of our significant challenges was the limited access to the construction site. This required meticulous planning and section-by-section work. Coordinating demolition, foundation laying, and construction demanded precision and teamwork.
Despite these difficulties, our team adapted effectively. Each stage of the project progressed smoothly and efficiently.
